Introducing PTWin32 |
PTWin32
has a window for Contractors that stores information about service
providers associated with Permit records. A given Contractor can
be attached to any number of Permits. There
is also a PTWin32 window for License records. License records need
not necessarily be associated with a Contractor record as you could be
using PTWin32 to issue pet or fishing licenses. But generally Contractors
need Licenses to do business so PTWin32 provides a link between the two
windows. The
Contractor window already contains fields for the primary state and local
licenses but some Contractor types require many Licenses to
operate. For example, a full-service builder might need business, plumbing,
electrical, HVAC, etc Licenses to build a house. To
take care of this situation we have placed 2 tables on the Licenses /
Insurance tab of the PTWin32 Contractors window. The first table
allows you to list the Required Licenses for that Contractor. The
second table lists the Obtained Licenses. Each row of the Obtained
Licenses table represents an individually associated License record. If
kept properly the Required Licenses and Obtained Licenses tables
will allow you to create a report that lists Contractors who have not
obtained all of the necessary Licenses. From
here you may move freely among pages of this record or any license record. The Window
Toolbar of the License Window contains a button that will take you to
the Contractor record associated with the current License record.
This closes the loop and allows you to effortlessly jump between related Contractor
and License records. When
creating a new License record you will find that the pulldown list
associated with the Contractor # field shows you all of the Contractor
records available in the system. Selecting
one of the Contractors listed in the Contractor # pulldown list
will cause any related information contained in the Contractor record to
be brought into your new License record. Local
and Main
Addresses along with contact data and other information germane to the License
record is automatically filled it. If
you don’t know the Contractor Name or Number you can press the Search
button to the left of the Contractor # field to look for a Contractor
by Type and/or State/Local License expiration dates.
