Where's the check mark key?
Logical field values

Tip #: 4.2.90
Ver(s):PTWin32, V2, V1

There is a type of field used in PTWin32 called a Logical field. Sometimes this field is referred to as a Boolean field, but you know it as a Check Box field.

Check Box fields are found throughout PTWin32 in Inspections, Checklists, and anywhere else we need values like “checked” and “unchecked” to signify on/off attributes.

But if you want to refer to a Check Box field in a query or filter for a report how do you tell the program to look for a “check mark”? The answer is, you don’t. Logical fields don’t store “check marks” as values. The Check Box symbols you see when using PTWin32 don’t represent what is stored in the Logical field.

For example, If an Inspection Item Check Box has been checked the field value will be equal to “True”. If the Check Box has been left unchecked then the field value will be equal to “False”.
