Time Will Tell
Measuring your tides
Using Time Tracking for strategic information

Tip #: 5.1.113
Ver(s):PTWin32, V2, V1

Most PTWin32 users employ the Time Tracking window to measure how much staff time has been spent on particular permits. This is an excellent use of the Time Tracking window but we would like to point out some other uses you could make of your Time Tracking data.

You can conceivably come up with the average time needed for each Permit Type, Work Type, or Status. You can see involvement by Staff Member or figure out your busiest times of year. You can even plot your busiest times of day.

This kind of information can go a long way in figuring out the needs of your department and it my already be right under your fingertips.

If not, you can begin to use Time Tracking right off the main toolbar or you can access it from the Administration tab of the Permit window.

Using Time Tracking from the Permit window will automatically attach Time Tracking records to the current permit record. And don’t forget that you can tie Time Tracking records together in Lists.
