Quiting all users out of PTWin32 before running table utilities

Tip #: 5.4.139
Ver(s):PTWin32, V2, V1

We provide a group of utility applications with PTWin32 that can diagnose and repair a variety of problems that can occur in your database tables. These applications can be found in the Table Repair program accessible from your PTWin32 Program Group.

The Table Repair program restructures damaged data tables, rebuilds out-of-date indices, removes slack space from certain tables, and verifies a variety of other table functions.

If you have made the determination to run the Table Repair utilities you must make certain that all PTWin32 users in your installation have exited the program. If you are on a network with many users you must check that each one has quit PTWin32.

Should you run a Table Repair utility on a PTWin32 system that contains database tables still in use by one of the users the utility will halt until that user releases the files. So make sure everyone is out before you run a Table Repair utility.
