Expanding the
Permit Tally
Meeting census & FW Dodge Requirements
Include different permit types in
the Permit Tally report
|
Tip #: 1.1.5 |
| Ver(s):PTWin32, V2 |
PTWin V.2 includes a Permit Tally
report developed to provide summary information for U.S. Census and FW Dodge reporting
requirements. This report is created from the PTWin main menu by selecting Reports |
Activity Reports | Permits | Building Tally. Select a date range in the Month Selection
dialog box and click OK to print the report.
By default this report summarizes Building permits. However, a few simple changes can make
PTWin summarize other types of permits. To include a new permit type in the report, check
the Tally Rpt? box in the Permit Modifications window, and add four fields to the Permit
Info window. These four fields are:
Purpose:, # of Residential Units:, # of Buildings:, and Public Ownership?. The Building
Permit already contains these fields. Create these fields on the Permit Info page of each
permit type you want included on the Permit Tally. Follow the instructions under Modifying
PTWin in your PTWin manual to add fields to the Permit Info window.
The records in the Purpose Selection Value table supply descriptions of the categories on
U.S. Census and FW Dodge reports. The Permit Tally uses these values from the Purpose:
fields in permit records to summarize different permits into appropriate U.S. Census and
FW Dodge categories.
Summaries are also done for the # of Residential Units, the # of Buildings, Construction
Values and Permit Charges for buildings in both public and private sectors. At the bottom
of the report you will find a similar summary for all buildings, regardless of purpose. If
your jurisdiction files reports with the U.S. Census Bureau and/or FW Dodge, the Permit
Tally report is a real time saver.
