When creating a Permit record in
PTWin,
the Contractor is selected from a dialog box that appears when you press the Assign
button. It lists the Contractors sorted by either the Company Name or Type. So what to do
when the owner of the parcel is performing the duties of a builder or plumber?
If you have an owner who is acting as builder on the project, simply open the Contractors
window and add a record with a Type of Builder, and a Company Name that reads something
like, " Owner/Builder".
Use the Owner/Builder record as a template that is assigned to any permit that needs it.
If an owner is his own plumber or electrician then create an Owner/Builder record for each
necessary contractor type.
In the example above, " Owner/Builder" has a blank space as the first character.
The blank space causes " Owner/Builder" to be listed first when the contractors
are sorted by the Company Name. This way you can assign an Owner/Builder contractor with
ease.
