PTWin contains a function that allows
you to define general checklists that can be associated with Permit records. There is no
limit to the number of checklists you can attach to a permit record, and the individual
checklist items can be anything you want.
To create checklists execute Options | Selection Values from the pulldown menus and click
on the Checklist Types tab of the Selection Value window.
Here you can enter your master list of checklists. They will appear as selections in the
Checklist Type field when you add a checklist to a Permit record.
The checklists you define can help you keep track of tasks that must be performed or
requirements that must be met before a particular permit can be issued. Any required
documentation, reviews, drawings, etc. can be identified in a checklist, and that
checklist can be added to a permit record to help track the progress of the project.
On the Checklists tab of the Permit window press the Add button. Clicking in the Checklist
Type field will display a pulldown field that shows the names of all the checklists you
defined in the Selection Value window. Select one, and your checklist items appear in a
scrolling panel on the left. You can check and uncheck the items by clicking in the box to
the left of each one.
These general checklists work in much the same way as the Inspection Checklists, but
general checklists provide you with greater flexibility in the scope of the items you wish
to track.
