PTWin provides a variety of tools to
help get to specific records in your data tables. Here are a few of the more powerful
methods.
Find & Find Next
These Window Toolbar buttons search all records in the current data table. You pick a
field to inspect and a value to look for. You can use the Find Next button to go to the
next matching record. Find lets you jump through your records one at a time scanning only
those that match your criteria.
Search
The Search function is a way of telling PTWin to go through your records and make a
list of all records that match criteria you specify. Search lets you pick multiple values
from multiple fields and can be run from a Window Toolbar button or from smaller
"Filing Cabinet" buttons associated with certain code fields.
Browse
Browse lets you view your records in a scrolling table. You can usually sort the list
through selections in the Sort List By field. A built in Search For function lets you jump
to specific records in the scrolling table.
