Borrowing Data
Are you doing extra work?

Filling in blocks of data at the press of a button

Tip #: 1.4.19
Ver(s): PTWin32, V2, V1

We don’t want you to have to type unless it’s absolutely necessary. That’s why we provide Date, Number, and Combo Box fields. It’s also why PTWin provides you with five ways to Borrow whole blocks of information from another location in the same record, or another record altogether.

If you’ve already entered Applicant, Parcel, Contractor, or Owner information into a PTWin permit record, chances are you won’t have to do it again. You can just Borrow it to fill in the fields of the record you are working on.

The Window Toolbar for the Permit Window contains a Borrow button that lets you take the Applicant, Parcel, or Contractors from any other permit record to fill in the associated fields in the current record.

The Applicant page of the Permit Window also contains two buttons that move a copy of the Contractor or Owner information from the current record into the Applicant fields for the current record.
