Y2K Okay
PTWin is millennium ready
The meltdown that never happened

Tip #: 1.4.23 |
| Ver(s):V2, V1 |
Weve been getting a lot of
questions about the so-called "Millennium Bug". This refers to a data storage
problem some software programs will exhibit when 2 digit dates are given the value
"00" to represent the year 2000. People want to know if PTWin will experience
this much-publicized problem. The answer is no.
PTWin is now and always has been Year 2000 Ready. Your PTWin data is not stored in a
manner that makes the Y2K bug a problem. We did find, however, that our pop-up calendar
required the entry of four digits instead of two for year 2000 dates. We have since made
the calendar more user-friendly as a convenience for our clients.
To find out if your version of PTWin contains the pop-up calendar change, execute PTWin
and click on the Help pull-down menu from the PTWin desktop. Select About PTWin and check
your version number from the dialog box that appears. If your PTWin version is 2.15 or
higher your copy of PTWin already contains the latest pop-up calendar.
If your copy of PTWin is version 2.14 or lower you do not have the latest pop-up calendar.
Should you wish to incorporate the latest pop-up calendar to your copy of PTWin simply
give us a call and we will ship you a disk.
If you choose to keep a version of PTWin that is 2.14 or lower you will NOT crash at
midnight on December 31, 1999 nor will you experience any of the other problems associated
with Year 2000 bugs. You will simply have to press two more keys to enter year 2000 dates.
