When records don't matter
A place for junk data
Lear System/Fee Estimates scratchpad data set

Tip #: 3.1.41
Ver(s): PTWin32

One of the features incorporated into PTWin32 is an alternate mode that allows you to estimate fees and create learning records without effecting your live PTWin32 Data. It’s a kind of scratchpad that looks and acts just like PTWin32 but it doesn’t work with your real records.

In earlier versions of PTWin if you created test records while learning the system you had to delete them to keep your genuine information clean. The same was true when it came to estimating fees.

So in response to these needs we created a place in PTWin32 where test records don’t matter.

The Learn System/Fee Estimate command can be found on the File Menu of PTWin32. When you switch to Learn System/Fee Estimate mode you will find that the background of the main toolbar turns yellow.  While you remain in this mode none of your activities will be recorded in your authentic PTWin32 information, nor will any other PTWin32 users see your work.

As you practice with PTWin32 you can enter test records into any tables. It’s also a great place to estimate fees for customers who want to get a ballpark idea of what their permit fees would be for a potential project. Just create a new “junk” permit and enter enough information to calculate the fees.
