Controlling field labels

Changing prompts for fields on primary tabs

Tip #: 3.1.43
Ver(s):PTWin32

With PTWin32 you have control over the prompts that identify the fields on the primary notebook pages of most PTWin32 windows.

Let’s say you want to change the field label that appears to the left of the Status field on the Administration page of the Permit window from “Status” to “Condition”.

If you are a user with System Administration privileges you will find that you can select the Modifications command from the Options Menu of PTWin32.

Once selected this command displays the Modifications dialog box. This dialog box contains a button labeled Prompts. Pushing the button displays the Screen Prompts window.

This window is split into upper and lower halves. The lower half contains a tabbed notebook that displays the starting page of the ten primary PTWin32 windows.

The upper half provides a grid listing all of the field prompts and allows for you to enter an alternate label. Press the Update button to see your new prompt.
