Square One
A template for permit reports
Using existing reports and the basicprm.srw template

Tip #: 3.4.68
Ver(s):PTWin32, V2

Any report included with PTWin32 can be used as the basis for a new report. For example if you wanted a list of permits for last month that showed Permit, Parcel, and Owner information you could load the Permit Log by Type report called Allperm.srw in the Ad Hoc Reporter & merely link the Owner tables to the search definition.

From there it is a simple matter to replace Applicant fields with Owner fields and your new report is ready to be saved under another name.

Remember to check for an existing report that comes close to what you want before you launch into a reinvention of the wheel.

Despite the availability of all existing reports as templates for new reports we have also included a basic permit report designed exclusively as a starting place for new permit reports.

This template is called Basicprm.srw and it links Permit, Administration, and Parcel information showing fields for Status, Filing Date, Permit Number, Permit Type, Parcel Number, and Applicant Name.

Basicprm.srw gives you the kernel you need to link any other related Permit tables into the report. It is the ideal starting point.
