Changing the link criteria in the Ad Hoc Reporter

Tip #: 3.4.73
Ver(s):PTWin32

Most people who use PTWin32’s Shazam Ad Hoc Reporter already know that any given field in a report can have up to five filters that are used to select the records for the report.

These filters do a good job of querying your PTWin32 data but did you know there is a way to alter the nature of the link between tables in a data model?

All you have to do is double-click on the line that links any two tables to display the Link Tables dialog. Here you can change the operator used to define the link and set which records are included in the results of the query.

For example, you can find all License holders not represented in your Contractor table by linking the Contractor Ref Key in License with the Contractor Key in Contract. Then change the Link Tables operator to “Is Not Equal To”. This yields the records you want and still leaves all of the filters available for you to refine your report.
