Sentenced to Solitary?
At times security leads to isolation
Internet security restrictions placed on users

Tip #: 5.3.125
Ver(s): PTWin32, V2, V1

The Internet, like the real world, presents a magnificent opportunity for exploration. But, like the real world, there are dangers. How you defend against these dangers determines the level of freedom you allow yourself.

There are circumstances where security concerns outweigh the need for freedom, and quite often these circumstances apply to governments. What this translates to in real terms is, a bunch of PTWin32 users who have restricted rights to the Internet.

Often times we at Black Bear understand these security concerns, but every now and then they interfere with the efficient use of PTWin32. For example, you may not have permission to accept emails with attachments, or to download files from the Black Bear web site

This can present a problem when we are trying to send you a maintenance upgrade, a report format, documents, or zipped data. If you are not allowed to accept attachments to emails let us know and we will post your file to our FTP site and provide you with instructions.

Restricted Internet users need not worry about our willingness to work within your security requirements. One way or the other we will meet your needs.
