Introducing PTWin32 |
When many users pool
their resources into a network across a large organization there arrises a need
to assign access rights based on users. For example, people
in other departments who don’t use PTWin32 shouldn’t be allowed to access
those areas where PTWin32 is located. You both use the same network; you just
don’t use each other’s software. So network operating
systems have developed a system of Rights that can be assigned to specific
users. User Rights are associated with directories and files. You may be
prohibited from accessing an entire directory, or you may be given only limited
access to do certain things with certain files. Normally these rights
don’t present a problem until they restrict needed access by PTWin32 users.
There are data, executive, and configuration files that work with PTWin32 and
users need to have rights to all of them no matter where they were installed. If in using PTWin32
you receive errors denying you access to a
file or directory then you may need to have your network Rights adjusted. Your
network administrator will be able to help you with this process.
